In memory of 11 September 2001

11 September 2008

Viktor Orban's letter to ambassador April Foley on the anniversary of 11 September 2001.

The Honorable April H. Foley

Ambassador
Embassy of the United States of America

September 11, 2008

Dear Ambassador,

On behalf of Fidesz – Hungarian Civic Union I wish to express my solidarity with your country and the families of the victims on the seventh anniversary of the brutal terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. The savage acts of terror remind us to keep our values to our hearts and do all that is possible to defend them. It furthermore teaches us the lesson that remembrance and action must go hand in hand, and for that NATO’s mission in Afghanistan has to be a success. I would like to reinforce my commitment to that mission, and assure you how strongly I feel about Hungary’s ongoing contribution, which helps to solidify the ties bonding the Trans-Atlantic agenda.

Sincerely yours,

Viktor Orbán

Chairman
Fidesz – Hungarian Civic Union
