Rule of law restored over past years, says Orban

Over the past few years the rule of law has been restored in Hungary, with the justice system operating more efficiently than previously, Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Monday.
"The times are over when perpetrators of crimes shocking the public escaped unpunished, when anyone could prepare for a crime with the hope of getting away with it, and when innocent demonstrators were taken into custody en masse," the prime minister said at a Budapest ceremony, marking Prosecutors' Day.
Orban added, however, that the justice system, including prosecutors, would still have many challenging tasks in promoting Hungary's renewal.
